Summer Vacation

We took our summer vacation to Virginia Beach again this year.  We were thrilled when my parents agreed to come with us for a few days and I think they very much enjoyed their mini-vacation to the beach.  I know we certainly enjoyed having them come to the beach with us.

We stayed at Rob's parents which is only a short 10 minute drive to Sandbridge so every morning we'd load up the cars and drive to the beach.  Following a lengthy process of unloading the cars, hiking down to the beach, and setting up our camp, we were finally able to relax on the beach.  Though I'm not sure how much relaxing we really did with Brady -- he hated the sand and required lots of attention.

Two highlights of our trip were Alaina and BawBaw riding the Ferris Wheel at the oceanfront and eating yummy ice cream at Handel's.

Here are some pictures from our trip to the beach:

Trip to Maine / Michelle's Baby Shower

This past June we traveled to Wells, Maine for our annual vacation to see Rob's parents.  The past couple of years we've gone to Maine they have had an unusual heatwave so we were never able to escape the sweltering heat.  This year, however, the weather was much more seasonal we were able to leave the heat and humidity behind in Maryland as we traveled north.

While we enjoyed going to the beach and flying a kite, walking around Kennebunk, and eating lunch at the Maine Diner, the highlight of this year's trip was my sister-in-law's baby shower on Saturday, June 9th.  Michelle's parents, aunt & uncle, and cousin all traveled to Maine for the co-ed baby shower.  My mother-in-law asked that I handle the games which I happily agreed to do.  We played the Guess the Baby Food game (the guests had to figure out what kind of baby food was in the unmarked jars without actually tasting it), the Wet Diaper game (guess how many cups of water a Newborn-sized diaper will hold), and the How Many are in the Bottle game (where I filled a baby bottle with baby q-tips and the guest who guessed the closest without going over won a prize).  What fun!  Jeffrey and Michelle then cut their baby shower cake and opened their presents.  It was such an enjoyable afternoon.

Girls Weekend in OC

My group of girlfriends decided to leave our beloved children behind in the loving and capable hands of our husbands and embarked on a Girls Only Weekend in Ocean City this past April.  I'm sworn to secrecy about said events but let us just say the weekend involved a boardwalk, shopping, a haunted house, Kinect, board games, Seacrets, drunk gummy bears, adult libations, and memories which will last us a lifetime.

F is for the fun we had together
R is for the relaxing time we shared together
I is for the interesting moments we had
E is for the entertaining time we spent together
N is for the never ending friendship that we'll have
D is for the days we'll never forget
