Easter weekend was a flurry of activity which included a family dinner at Mom & Dad's on Saturday night. Alaina had a good time playing with her cousins and the Easter ham, baked pineapple and scalloped potatoes were delicious! Of course the coconut cream cake was the perfect end to a yummy dinner.
The Easter Bunny visited Alaina and he left her an Easter basket filled with baby-friendly candy, a few books about "Pat the Bunny" and a cute "Pat the Bunny" stuffed animal. She was very inquisitive since she had never eaten candy before but one bite of the Russell Stover chocolate marshmallow egg and she was hooked! She ate about 1 1/2 eggs before church and would have eaten more if we had allowed her to do so.
Later that morning we went to church to celebrate the Resurrection. The sanctuary was filled with beautiful Easter flowers and it was so nice to see everyone dressed in their Easter finest. The sanctuary was a rainbow of pinks, lavendars, greens, light blues and white. All those beautiful pastel colors was a welcome sign that Spring had finally arrived.After church everyone reconvened at Mom & Dad's where we had fun Easter Egg Hunt for the children. Lauren and Andrew had a great time running through the yard in a race to see who could get the most eggs and even Alaina got into the swing of things by picking up some eggs of her own and cracking them open to see what goodies were inside.
