May 1st!
Happy May the First! Not only is May 1st our niece's 8th birthday, but it is also May Day! What better way to celebrate May Day then by attending the Apple Blossom Festival in Biglerville, PA. Homemade crafts, wreaths, quilts, candles, a petting zoo, moon bounce, kiddie train ride and LOTS of food -- including deep fried Oreos. That's right, I said DEEP FRIED OREOS! I'm not kdding. They were sinfully delicious but I was good and ate only one. Oh and a side note: As if a deep fried Oreo wasn't fattening enough the people had to sprinkle them with powdered sugar!
Alaina loved looking at the alpacas, sheep, goats, pigs, cow and calf. Rob and I thought they were pretty cool too. That's two weekends in a row of animal fun for Alaina; last Saturday we visited South Mountain Creamery's Cow Caper Festival and Alaina got to pet lots of cows. She really had a ball! Here are two pictures from the Cow Caper Festival:

Today it reached almsot 90° so when we got home from the Apple Blossom Fesitval we got out Alaina's baby pool and filled it with water for her to swim in. She had a blast playing with her toys and floating in the water. She even put her face in the water and, sadly, started drinking the pool water. She does this in the bathtub too. No matter how much we tell her "no" she still enjoys drinking the tub & pool water. BLECH!
